Broker Continuing Education Program
Course Description(s) – This 4-hour continuing education course is required by the NC Real Estate Commission 21 NCAC 58A .1702.
Course Title – BICUP (broker in charge update) and GENUP (general update) consist of four credit hours of elective courses; and four hours of either:
(A) the "General Update Course;" or
(B) for a broker with BIC Eligible status, the "Broker-In-Charge Update Course" instead of the "General Update Course."
Course Materials – The broker will be provided with all course materials by the start of the class. For synchronous offerings, the materials will be emailed before the beginning of the class.

This Education Provider is certified by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. The Commission’s address is 1313 Navaho Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609. Any complaints concerning the Education Provider, or its affiliated instructors should be directed in writing to the Commission.
A link to the Complaint Form is provided on the Commission’s homepage (ncrec.gov). Per Commission Rule 58H .0204, the Education Provider must provide each prospective student with a copy of the Education Provider’s Policies & Procedures Disclosure (PPD) prior to payment of any non-refundable tuition or fee. The PPD, which is required by the NC Real Estate Commission, outlines Education Provider policies plus the rights and obligations of the Provider and the student. The Provider is required to keep a signed certification indicating that a student has received a copy of the PPD.
NO STUDENT SHALL BE DENIED ADMISSION ON THE BASIS OF AGE, SEX, RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, FAMILIAL STATUS, HANDICAPPING CONDITION, OR RELIGION.

*A BIC or BIC-eligible Broker who takes the General Update course and an elective will maintain an Active license but will lose his/her BIC status/eligibility.
To enroll in this course, prospective students must complete an online registration and attach a copy of their identification. This will be available at www.peytonacademy.com.
Attendance
• Attendance during in-person and synchronous distance learning courses will be closely monitored, including late arrivals and early departures from class sessions and from all scheduled breaks. All time missed will be recorded for each student.
• Early departures from CE courses delivered in-person or via synchronous distance learning are prohibited by Rule 58A .1705.
Technology Requirements for Online Courses
Per Commission Rule 58H .0204, online courses shall include a list of hardware and software or other equipment necessary to offer and complete the course.
• An electronic device (i.e., laptop, desktop, i-pad, tablet) that can accept an internet connection (Chromebook not recommended)
• Internet access (wired recommended)
• Keyboard
• Webcam, Speakers, or Headphones
• Microphone (for classroom participation)
• (Suggestion) A backup internet source (such as a cellphone or hotspot)

Student Orientation/Course Tutorial Information
Students enrolled in one of our Synchronous courses may only access the course using a desktop or laptop computer. A webcam and microphone are also required. Any students connecting to the class through a mobile device will be advised of the need to download and install the most recent version of Zoom (or its equivalent) and ensure all hardware and software are working before the start of class.
Students must be in a well-lit room to be visible on camera and always remain on camera during instruction. Students are not permitted to connect from a vehicle and will be removed from the course immediately.

Student Conduct – Students should observe the following:
Cell phone use is allowed only for selected in-class tasks. Dis-allowed: Sleeping, talking out of turn, surfing the internet, texting, making or accepting phone calls or working on activities not connected to this course.
Cheating
If a student is discovered to be cheating in any manner (such as having someone else complete this class), the student will be immediately dismissed and reported to the NC Real Estate Commission [per Commission Rule 58H .0203(h)].
Course Cancellation or Rescheduling / Refunds
The Education Provider reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course as needed. If a course needs to be canceled or rescheduled, we will strive to provide notice at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class.
If a course is canceled or rescheduled, students can choose a refund or transfer funds to a future class.
Withdrawals and Transfers / Refunds
A student may withdraw from a course by giving written notice to the Education Provider prior to the start of the course. In such an event, the student will have the following options:
